Brian began his teaching career in Rochester, New York in 1987, before relocating to Westborough, Massachusetts in 2004.
Brian has extensive experience with students at all levels, from early beginners through intermediate and advanced. He has developed a highly personalized approach which consists of fashioning a curriculum based on the individual's strengths, emphasizing a learning process that is productive and enjoyable for each student."My older daughter started lessons with Brian when she was 6, using the basic Piano Adventures books. 10 years later, she still loves playing piano and Brian is teaching her advanced jazz and classical pieces. He also helped her learn some favorite pop songs, transcribing the notes and chords for her to play. Brian’s friendly and encouraging style makes learning fun and has fostered her love of music. My younger daughter equally enjoys her lessons with Brian and particularly benefits from his patience and sense of humor. She waits for him at the door every Monday, eager to start her lesson. Brian has helped make music an integral part of our family’s life!" -- Juli, Sudbury, MA
"Brian has been teaching me for over 10 years and it has been a great experience. Lessons have always been fun and he’s great to talk to. He has exposed me to many different types of music while also listening to my preferences, which has helped me find songs I really enjoy playing. His flexibility has allowed me to continue to take lessons into high school, and his teaching has made me love playing the piano." -- Hannah, Sudbury, MA
"I have two children who have taken piano lessons with Brian for about 5 years. They have very different learning styles and Brian has been able to make piano fun for each of them by playing to their strengths. His relaxed style has allowed them to learn songs that they enjoy playing and they actually like to practice! I would definitely recommend Brian as a piano teacher to anyone from beginner on up." --Tracey, Northborough, MA
